Did you know that there is actually an abandoned railway that used to operate between Jurong and Bukit Timah? The Jurong Railway Line began operations in early 1966 and ferried materials between Jurong and Tanjong Pagar Station with Bukit Timah station as its midway point. The railway ceased operations in the 1990s when trucks became the main form of transportation for goods. In this hike, walk along the Ulu Pandan Park Connector and trace the historical Jurong Railway Line, visit the abandoned railway tracks and tunnels before ending your journey at the historical Bukit Timah Railway Station.
