Experience a peaceful (and delicious) day out in this quaint expat-friendly nabe.
At the turn of the 20th century, much of Siglap was coconut and nutmeg plantations owned by the Frankels, a Jewish Lithuanian family which named many streets after famous operas.
Today, it’s home to many wealthy Singaporeans – evident from the number of large private estates found here – and is also popular with expats, due to its proximity to the beach at East Coast Park, the airport and Changi Business Park.
BONUS: The Siglap MRT station is slated to open in 2023, further connecting this charming nabe to the rest of the island better.
