“It certainly hasn’t been easy being in the travel industry and with Covid-19 making its mark this year,” shares Stephanie.
She holds a Malaysian passport, is a permanent resident of New Zealand yet has called Singapore home “off and on” since 2012. “But, as with all challenges, one just has to keep looking upwards.”
Her original vision for The Luxe Nomad was to become the leading travel brand for private luxury villas. And since launching the first-of-its-kind platform in 2012, she has manifested this goal into existence – users can book villas on the beautiful beaches of Bali, situated on a gorgeous mountain range in Niseko, Japan, and many scenic spots in between.
It’s not Stephanie’s first business, though. That title goes to Wedding Guide Asia, a blog she started in Malaysia as a listing-type business model. “Although I wasn’t very interested in weddings, I thought it was a good opportunity,” she says. “For two years, I handled sales, finance, was editor of the blog, oversaw tech, learned to hire – all skills that are important no matter how small or big a business is.”
